Annie's Orphans is a No-Kill dog shelter located in Durango, Colorado which began in 1985 as a home for retired sled dogs. With dogs for adoption in Durango, CO, Annie's Orphans is the Southwest's oldest No-Kill dog shelter in the Four Corners.
The Durango Kennel Club (DKC) is a licensed American Kennel Club (AKC) based in Durango, Colorado, and dedicated to the advancement of purebred dogs. DKC's membership is a blend of people from the Four Corners Region who own purebred and/or mix breed dogs and share an interest in canine activities and welfare.
Our mission is to help people afford the costs of spaying and neutering their pets. . . . or SNiPPING them as we like to say. . . . our goal is to end pet overpopulation in Durango, Colorado, and surrounding areas.
D-SNiP was founded in 1999 as Dogster's Fund in memory of Dogster, the beloved pet of Karen and Mark Zempel. D-SNiP offers affordable spay and neuter surgeries for pet owners who cannot afford these procedures. All surgeries take place at Aspen Tree Animal Caring Center.
The La Plata County Humane Society is a nonprofit organization created to enhance the quality of life in our community by encouraging the humane treatment of animals. Our philosophy is to preserve the lives of the animals entrusted to us so long as they do not have life threatening injury or illness, are not vicious, and there are funds and space available to provide the animals with a safe and healthy environment.
